If you notice that everyone has a lei on. We all started with one and if anyone caught you saying the word "Erika", or "Thank-you" or any form of those words, they could take your lei away. Whoever had the most lei's at the end was the winner. It was a great ice breaker and caused many laughs! Sarah ended up winning with Erika coming in 2nd. We also did a "Getting to know Erika" quiz which her mom and sister won.
Jen read some advice and thoughts that all the women of our family wrote to Erika.
It was great to celebrate having Erika join our family and I hope she felt loved and welcomed!
She received a lot of nice gifts too.
Starting on the left of the table:Martha (she was our wedding coordinator and is also Erika's), Erika, Jana (Erika's sister), Erika's grandma (She is 90!), My mom-in-law Sylvia, my sister-in-law Sheryl, Vonda (Erika's mom), and Sal (her hubby was the chef!)
Also starting on the left:My mom, my grandma, Sarah(my sister), my Aunt Sue, Alex (her daughter), Adrianna, my Aunt Deb, my Grandma, Laura, my Aunt Lori, and my sister Jen.
My brother loves Michigan! My mom got Erika a tablecloth and dish towel for every holiday. I guess Michigan games are a holiday to Andrew!
Adrianna with soon-to-be Aunt Erika.
Adrianna and her big sister cousin Alex. They were great helpers at the shower. They helped pass out the leis, the games, and handed Erika her gifts.
They played so well together I wish they lived closer!
