The Girls

I am just amazed at how grown up Adrianna is becoming. She is an amazing helper and she usually will do things with a cheerful heart. She will sometimes randomly break out into a song of some sort and thinks the littlest things are funny. She is a joy to me! I am cherishing every moment with her, especially since she will be gone every morning in the fall!

The girls have recently loved making tents using every available towel they can find! They are actually getting along for this brief time I am taking pictures! It's hard when they both like the same things and want a certain Barbie or Polly Pocket at the exact same time. Go figure....

I have waiting so long for Eliza to get hair and now I don't know what to do with it! She has beautiful curls and looks so cute! She is just pure joy in her personality! She is smiling most of the time and likes to tease whenever she can. I love it! She always brightens up the day especially when I am feeling down.

Finally Sitting Up!

At 8 months old Caleb decided he could sit up by himself for about 10 minutes at a time. Yeah! The whole world is at his fingertips!

Critter Barn

My mom found this really cute barn right in Zeeland that we decided to visit a few weeks ago. It was very organized and maintained AND had a lot of variety of animals. Us city folk had a great time! We got to see baby chicks that had just hatched, pot-bellied pigs, rabbits, cats, cows, goats, and horses.
Of all the animals that were really cool Adrianna said her favorites were the cats! Eliza liked the chickens the best! Yes, we have been to many farms but this was a lot of fun. We had a 9 year old girl be our tour guide and she showed us all around and was able to tell us the names of all the animals. It made it a little bit more personal. Did you know that there were 3 different kinds of eggs certain chickens can lay? The most common are brown, but there are also blue and of course white. Each chicken lays an egg every 27 hours and as soon as that one is layed, the next one starts. I am clearly showing you all what a city girl I am! It was very interesting!

Seriously, why do they say pigs are a clean animal??!!!

4th of July

On the 4th of July our family came over from Detroit to celebrate.
We rented a pavilion at a park in Zeeland that had a kitchen and bathrooms really close!
The kids had a blast playing on the play structures and swings.
We had a contest this year to see who had the most festive 4th of July attire. Sarah won by a huge vote!
We also celebrated my Grandpa's 76th Birthday and had a baby shower for Jen and Keith. It was a great day!

I look at her in this picture and realize how grown-up she looks!

I personally think Caleb should have won for his attire!

Jen, my mom, Sarah , and me.

My Dad looks like a Doodle bop!

The whole crew!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!
We ended our day with fireworks that my uncle brought. They were really good!

We have an abundant life with our family!

Fireworks on July 3rd!

This picture "cracks me up"! My precious girls baring it all for the world to see! We went to watch the fireworks in Holland and had great seats! There was hardly a crowd and we didn't have to walk far! My grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousin came over for the weekend and it was a great time! Caleb even liked the fireworks!

This is a face I typically get from my 2 1/2 year old!

Gurk Retreat

It has been almost a month since I have posted anything on my blog! I thought I would share a few highlights from the past month.
First of all we had our annual Gurk Retreat at Jeff & Sheryl's new place this year. It was 2 1/2 days of relaxing, making good food, and fun. They have a very nice house that accommodates all of us and a lot of property to run and play on. The girls had a blast "on the farm"! The days were spent swimming, playing at a park, and shooting off fireworks.
Thanks for letting us come Jeff and Sheryl!
