Our 2nd day without daddy was good and bad all at the same time!
Here's how it went:
Get up early and be out the door with Eliza by 8:30 so we could be at ICR by 9am. Our ICR was from 9-9:45.
Drive to Zeeland and pick up my mom and Adrianna so we could drive to see Shawn in Berrien Springs.
Get gas on the way.
Drive 1 1/2 hours to see Daddy. Got a tad bit lost because we passed the HUMONGOUS sign for Andrew's University because we were too busy listening to Bob and Larry and passing out drinks, silkies, and books.
Drive AROUND the campus to try and find Shawn, call Brad to get directions.
Finally find Shawn and find some nice benches to eat our lunch because the picnic tables are swarming with bees. (THANK YOU LORD for the cool weather!)
Drive around in the golf cart and see many students and parents, Shawn's room, and the beautiful campus.
Say goodbye to Daddy. He is doing really great and is in his element! He is having a great time!
Leave Andrew's and head to my sister's house in South Bend.
Stop for some iced tea because it is 2pm and there is no way we are going to be able to stay awake for the rest of the day!
Arrive at Jen's 40 minutes later. The kids play, make a GARGANTUAN mess, and then realize that of all the cools toys my nephew has, there just isn't anything to play with....
It is now 5:15. Cue the tears, whining, and turmoil because we have not had a nap, we are starving, and we still have to drive 1 1/2 hours home.
Stop at 1st McDonald's and find out they do not serve 4 piece nuggets separately so you have to order 6 piece. Deal with bad customer service and the fact they only accept cash because their machine was broke, and then decide to drive to another McDonald's.
The next McDonald's offers the same thing so we order a 10 piece to split.
Get MORE gas and a pop to make it home.
Breakdown 101 because our butts our sore, our toys are boring, we are tired, and cranky, and need TO GET OUT OF THE CAR!
Stop on the side of the road to get Eliza's silky that has fallen just out of reach of mommy. Eliza is crying inconsolably and saying "my silky" over and over. Mommy almost dies while getting passed and blown over by 3 charter buses on the highway.
Realize that mommy and Adrianna REALLY have to go potty but we are still 30 minutes from my mom's with no rest area in sight. Actually....we just passed one....
(I had actually thought about letting Adrianna stand up and pee in a cup but then she had to go poopy so the cup idea was not a good idea)
Finally arrive at my mom's at 7:30pm, drop off Eliza and my mom so Adrianna and I can go to her final dress fitting for my brother's wedding by 7:45.
I was going to go to my brother's house to pick up a microwave but it was 8:15, and you have read about our day so far. I wouldn't be able to lift it out of the van anyway.
When I get back to my mom's Eliza was 'supposedly' sleeping. We get ready for bed and she starts screaming. We had put her in a different room than Adrianna and I was thinking she would sleep in longer. She does not do well in strange places! So..I took a bath and my mom read to them to try and get them to calm down.
I get done with my bath and the girls are in bed and finally fall asleep by 10pm.
My mom and I play Scrabble which I lost...:(
Around 11:30pm, Eliza starts crying uncontrollably and calling for Grandma. I get ready for bed and dread the fact that all of us have to sleep in the same bed. We finally get to sleep and I wake up around 1:30am with Adrianna facing the opposite end of the bed, and her feet are jabbing into my belly. Eliza is on the other side of the bed and she wakes up and falls off the bed. Cue crying...again....
Mommy actually gets a little upset and tells Eliza to stop it and go to sleep.
I rearrange Adrianna and Eliza and we fall asleep again.
Gus starts whining to go outside around 2:30am. I ignore him....
Wake-up at 7:30 to Eliza hitting my numb arm (because I forgot by pillow), playing with my mask and yelling "mommy".
Good morning to all.......
Realize that this was too long of a day for all involved and we are going to re-vamp our plans for next year...especially with 3 kids...
Lord, please help me through this week because I'm not sure how I'm going to make it!
