Our 1st field trip to Robin's Nuts:)

Adrianna was so excited about her field trip today. I didn't even have to wake her up and the first thing she said was "Field trip, field trip"!
She remembered we were going to an apple farm and on the way she said "Are we at Robin's Nuts yet"? Meaning Robinette's! It was good to have a laugh from her since we are having such a hard time with her attitude!

We stayed as a group and had a tour of the orchard. The lady that led us around was so great with the kids and really explained things on their level. Each kid got to put an apple in this small version of the cider press so they could see how cider was made.
It chopped up all the apples first, then she pressed down on the apples to make the cider. Not rocket science but interesting none the less!

After she pressed all the cider she showed the kids how the apples looked like a cake. They all got to touch it and it was pretty cool. They put out these cakes for the deer and animals to eat.

I had all these grandiose expectations that Adrianna would just LOVE being with her mommy since we were doing this together. Well...she wanted to stay by her teacher's or her friends almost the whole time. She came by me a few times but it's funny that usually kids WANT to stay by their mommy's when they are in a new situation. Not my girl! She is off with everyone else. I guess I just have to get used to that right?!:)

This apple tree is 70 years old! It is still producing apples!

Everyone got to pick an apple and they are going to do something with them on Thursday at school. She is such a cheese ball!

We also got to ride on their apple wagon. It wasn't too bumpy and we got to see a glimpse of the whole orchard. They had a pretend beekeeper out in the midst of the trees and they have an actual beekeeper that orders about 60,000 bees every year to help pollinate the apple blossoms. If they didn't have the bees, there would be no apples!

Doesn't this make you want to make some apple crisp and some pies!

We all got to have donuts and cider in a cute little house afterwards. This is Adrianna's new little friend from school, Julia.
Adrianna is so loving and wants so badly to meet new friends. Everywhere we go she is always meeting someone! Sometimes the little girls she meets aren't very nice and they don't want to play with her. I don't want to see her little heart get broken but I know she will have to experience the rejection of friends in her life. I just wish she didn't have to! She can be so sweet sometimes!

We had a great time and hopefully she will remember her mommy going with her!
She also said the other day that she changed her mind and didn't want mommy to go with her, she wanted daddy to go. Okay....so it begins...:)
