1st Day of School! 1st Day of School!

My sweet little girl has officially started school today! She was so excited when I put her to bed last night that when I woke her up this morning it didn't take that long to get ready! Usually it takes her about an hour to wake up and be functional. Today it only took 40 minutes!
She kept saying the whole way there, "I can't wait to go to school, are we there yet?!". She did so good when I dropped her off. Hardly any clingyness!

All I have to send with her in her backpack right now is a change of clothes, but it sure looks cute!

Yes, I'm cheesy to take a picture of her name on the sign, but it was so fun to see it there! She is in the 4 year old Dinosaur room. Her teachers are Miss Bev and Miss Nancy. I can already tell they are going to be great!
On the way home she kept saying "I can't wait to go back tomorrow!". Well, it will be Thursday, but I'm glad she had a great time.

Here is what she remembered about her day:
1. She met a friend named Allie who had a princess barrette in her hair.
It was only one friend though.
2. She had a banana and graham crackers for snack. That will make her armpits strong...I asked her if her teacher told her that and she said she thought of it. That's what I have always wanted...strong armpits...:)
3. She said the "Rain, rain" song and some others but she couldn't remember.

And so it begins! I thought I wasn't going to cry because both girls were already fighting at 7:45am this morning so I was a little frustrated when we left, but when I walked her in her room I couldn't help tearing up a little. She got her nametag and proudly walked over to show me!
And she actually missed Eliza and wanted to keep hugging her after we picked her up. Eliza even asked where na na was! So maybe the separation will be great for them!

Wow...that's amazing! Things will never be the same again. Thankfully, she will have strong armpits! Perhaps we should start her on deoderant before kindergarten.
