Is she old enough for school yet?

Well, we began our school time routine today. I had all these grandiose expectations of doing some preschool-type stuff every day and that Adrianna would love it. Well, my very busy, and distractable 3 1/2 year old had other ideas! We began where we left off in the spring with the letter H. I am trying to teach her letter sounds, and basic words. After about 5 minutes of trying to hold her attention, we were both very frustrated and she was in her room for a time-out! I had to walk away for a while and resist the urge to call the nearest Preschool and sign her up! After a short break, we finished the page we were working on and then made a Hat! She had fun finding pictures from magazines that started with H and gluing them on. The most frustrating thing is trying to figure out if what you say to her is actually sinking in. There are some things she does remember that I don't want to sink it, but we are working on that! Well, later this evening she was saying goodnight and actually remembered the H sound and what it looked like! A small success that I will treasure!

The first day of school... ahhh such bittersweet memories I will always have! I can't believe Adrianna is ready for that plunge! I remember your first day of preschool.. does kicking the teacher compare to what you are going through? ahhh bittersweet

I'm so glad you got a blog, Becky! Hang in there with Adrianna...just keep making it fun for her and she'll pick up more than you can imagine! :) I have to keep reminding myself of that with Marlaina! :)
