For a few years, Shawn and I debated about whether or not to encourage the whole "Halloween" thing. Yes, it can be used for evil with just about everything else! Yes, it is way too much candy, but how often does that happen?! I have very good memories of trick-or-treating when I was younger. The whole family would dress up and we would drive to all of our family friends' houses and surprise them. We even made a trip to Detroit once or twice to surprise my grandparents! My parents were clowns one year and I will never forget how cute and funny they looked with their faces painted all white! I was a witch one year, green face and all. I think I have also been a bunny, a clown, and a cheerleader. It's just plain fun to dress-up! The girls love it even when it is not Halloween so we just decided that we can make it a fun Harvest dress up event. It is also fun to have them be a pair of something. We just recently watched the Wizard of Oz for the first time and they both loved it. Don't they look cute as Glinda and Dorothy! We couldn't help but encourage our "Wicked" obsession! ("Wicked" is our favorite musical!)We tried to get Eliza to say that and she usually just says "Place, home"!

Pa had to join in the dress-up too! I am always interested to see what he comes up with every year!

Trick-or-Treating with Pa!
The whole gang that went around our neighborhood. I stayed home with my mom and Shawn's mom and passed out candy. We had about 77 kids. Not too bad...
Trick-or-Treating with Papa
It is so hard to limit the kids on the candy they got. The girls were so excited to show me everything they collected. They were gone about an hour! After 2 pieces and decorating some cookies, it was enough sugar for one night!Eliza's favorite was the suckers!

Adrianna likes the tootsie rolls and the suckers.
I divided all their candy up into little bags so that we can try and go through a bag a week. I think it will take us a few months to get through it. I even threw a bunch of it away!
They had a great time!
