My 100th post!

How exciting! This is my 100th post! I'm sure all of you are sharing in my excitement...:)

The poll I posted asked if a 4 year old should go to preschool 2 days or 3 days a week.
Most people voted for 3 days a week. If you voted, can you please share your rationale?
I am interested in the reason for your vote! Thanks!

I'm off to feed the baby's craving of mushrooms...:)

It looks like the vote was about 50/50
I voted for2 days a weeks because of you having a new baby to get ready in the car and out of the car, in the morning?!?!?!?!??!
AND Adrianna might not want to leave her new baby, or then again, she might want to.. or YOU might want her to... anyway.... 2 days gives me the other 3 days to choose from... haha selfish????

I voted for 2, but that's only because there wasn't an option for "0". My personal opinion is that our kids are better served by being home with us during these young years rather than in school. I've heard the excuses...more social time for them, a break for us as moms...none of which seem like very good reasons to me. God's given us such a short time with our kids while they're young...I suggest skipping expensive preschool and spending more time getting to know your child. Even if all you do is read to them, they'll still be just fine when they start kindergarten.

I know my opinion may not be popular, but I think you know me well enough to know that I'll love you and support you no matter what you decide!

This opinion only works if you are planning to send Adrianna to preschool (vs. homeschooling). Elijah is currently in a 2 day preschool (mornings only) and from my understanding (I talked with his teacher), they 2 day program has the same cirriculum as the 3 day program (Jenison only does half day programs). At first Eli LOVED school.. but after a few weeks the fun and the newness of it had worn off and he hasn't liked it since. His only reason is that they "do too much stuff". His teacher has mentioned several times that they have their mornings jammed packed with stuff b/c they have such a limited time with the two-day-a-weekers. AND - since we have had so many snow days, their have been several weeks where they have only had one morning to learn a letter before they move on. I will definitely do a 3 day (half day)preschool with Ayla.

I say 3, babe! It's closer to what kindergarten will actually be like. You will have plenty of time to spend with her still, and this give you some alone time with Eliza...time that you haven't really had yet.

Getting back to Rygal, even Kindergarten is not mandated by the state.

Really I agree with Rygal! But if preschool is what you really want to do I like the 2 day option (even though I voted for 3 for unknown reasons;) because it's gradual change and I think she will adjust to kgarten just fine.

Hi Becky :) Yes, Yes, it's your sister and yes I'm leaving a comment! anyway....Keith and I signed Colin up for a form of preschool today for 2 days a week in the fall so I think that it most definitely depends on what you think is best for Adrianna, but I think that she will love preschool however many days she goes!
