Life has been pretty busy around here so my blog is one of the things that gets neglected!
Honestly, I really know of only 3 people who read this consistently and I already talk to them daily!:)
Anyway...I recently had a follow-up appointment with my Endocrinologist and most everything is moving along as expected. I have blood tests once a month to check my thyroid levels. Based on those results, my medication is increased. Then I wait a month to see if that dose is working right, if not, there is another adjustment and then another 4 weeks of waiting. My energy is better than it was and slowly getting back to normal. It's just a matter of waiting in between the blood tests and trying to make it through the day without a nap! I have a follow-up appointment with my ENT tomorrow and I go back to my Endo in November. I will also have another ultrasound at that time. I am still dealing with some healing from the surgery and some other physical issues that are from a low thyroid. I'm looking forward to the day when I can function normally!
Another issue has been an injury to my leg. It happened the week of my treatment and I have been going to Physical Therapy 2x a week for about 3 weeks. It is a combination of a pulled/torn muscle and inflammation. Very annoying when you can't walk very well or very far! I am praying that as my levels get back to normal, this pain will go away.
I really am just taking it one day at a time and trying to listen to what God wants to teach me throughout that day. It's about all I can handle right now!
Shawn is back full swing into Marching Band. He has been teaching at a music camp for 2 weeks during the day and he has his band rehearsals at night. There are a lot of extra gigs and events he has also.
He really enjoys his job but it is hard to be away so much. I am praying about my attitude this year and that I can have a positive way of encouraging Shawn and our kids during our long days.
Adrianna is really looking forward to being in 1st grade! I can hardly talk about it right now because it makes me kind of sad to have her gone all day. She is so ready! She is very independent and helpful and I have complete confidence that she will do well. She loves to talk to people and has already mentioned that she looks forward to meeting new friends. She has such a sweet, serving spirit!
Eliza will be home with me for another year. I am planning on doing preschool type things with her at least 1 day a week maybe 2. We will also have BSF to look forward to! We are really trying to encourage her own identity since she gets lost between Adrianna and Caleb sometimes! She is so funny and makes us laugh constantly. I don't want to squash that! I have to keep reminding myself that she is just 3 1/2 and wants to still play with dolls and have the attention.
Caleb is such a delight! He is doing really well with his glasses. He only takes them off when he is mad or doesn't have anything else to do! Since he has been been wearing them for about 5 weeks they have fixed the problems with his eyes! It is amazing how resilient the brain is and how fast it grows and changes. We go back in January for another evaluation so he has to wear them until them at least.
He is all boy! Full of energy, getting into everything, and just a barrel full of fun!
He is repeating most words we say and a few of my favorites is when he says "Mommy, please candy now". He is putting the word now at the end of most things he asks for. He can pretty much communicate what he wants and needs and we are trying to get him to do it without hitting or biting! He loves his sisters but not when they are in his personal space! He is so different from the girls and keeps me on my toes!
A verse to leave you with:
"...I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord is my strength and song; He is my salvation. Oh, the joy of drinking deeply from the Fountain of Salvation." Isaiah 12:2,3
