We loved the Dentist!

Lately it seems like I have a lot to say about Adrianna! She has just been hitting so many new milestones that there is a lot to write about! We went to the Dentist for the 1st time yesterday!
Adrianna did so great! She was a little leery at first but after the hygienist turned mommy's teeth purple to see where we missed brushing, she was more than willing! She opened wide and let them clean and floss her teeth. The greatest thing was getting a princess toothbrush and picking a prize from the bear basket! I must say it was a very pleasant experience! We had been reading The Dentist from the Black Lagoon for a few weeks now so maybe that helped, I'm not sure! I try not to tell her what we are doing to far in advance because she gets very anxious and nervous.
She loved the strawberry toothpaste and the cool pink sunglasses she got to wear. Whew, another big thing taken care of!

God is Bigger than the Boogie Man!

Adrianna has been very concerned about monsters lately. She has watched Monsters and is worried that Randall will come out of her closet. She also says that Randall says "stupid" and that's not nice! Of course it is fun to tell me what Randall said because then she is not really saying stupid on her own! It is very interesting how sensitive my ears have become when I'm previewing things for Adrianna to watch. Just when you think they won't catch on to something, they do! I am enjoying teaching her what the Bible says about how we use our tongue and that it should be used for good and not evil! Boy, I really have to watch my attitude also!
She is also obsessed with watching "Where is God when I'm scared" from Veggie Tales. She has memorized both songs and I thought I would share one of them with you! It is too cute!

Gymnastics!

Last night was our first Gymnastics class. Adrianna loved it! It was just a half hour so it was just the right amount of time. There are only 6 kids in the class. They already learned how to straddle, walk on the balance beam, hang on the uneven bars, and do somersaults. Adrianna did really well following directions,(which I was a little worried about in a group setting), and she tried everything without whining! She loves to jump and run and this was so great for her! She was quite proud of herself when she finally was able to so a somersault with some help from her teacher!


The kids were supposed to be able to flip their legs through their arms and then let go...well, I think she was a little unsure, so she let go a little early!

No more yaps

Adrianna has completed another milestone! She can say her "L's" now! All her L words used to sound like Y. Yeg for leg, Yaugh for laugh, & yeg for leg. My favorite was when she asked "Can I sit on your yap? What in the world is a yap?!! She also called her dear sister Eyiza. Now she is trying to say all the L words she knows just so she can practice! It is amazing how she looks more and more like a preschooler every day!

Eliza is quite a little personality! We can't seem to keep her away from the CD player. With Adrianna it was the revolving CD rack we used to have and with Eliza is the actual player. Adrianna feels it's her need to keep Eliza from it and she gets a little rough sometimes. Eliza did not like her sister trying to push her out of the way so she bit her on the cheek! Now, it might have looked like a kiss.....but really....:) She is going to be our ham and our active one!

We start Gymnastics tonight! We signed Adrianna up for a 6 week class and it is just a half hour once a week. She is always doing somersaults, tumbling, and jumping. Hopefully she will enjoy the structure of it! I'll let you know how it goes!

The story gets clearer!

Okay, so we established that one of her teacher's name was Ellen. I asked Adrianna that and a huge lightbulb went on! She did mention a cave and that David hid in it. She still is adamant that King Solomon was chasing David! This David not to be confused with my ex-brother-in-law who got swallowed by a whale! Those of you who know the story of my sister will understand! Adrianna came up with that all on her own! She says he didn't obey God so he got swallowed by a whale!

A 3 year old's view of the Bible

It still amazes me what 3 1/2 year olds remember throughout their day! I asked Adrianna what her story was about in Sunday school. This is what she said.....Adam was shooting a boy and arrow and he missed. Then he got bonked in the head. Then there was King Solomon...The end.
So then when we were eating dinner, I asked her to tell Daddy to see if the story was the same. Well, it came out that the story was about a girl named Ellen and she bonked her brother on the nose and then said sorry. King Solomon was involved somewhere in the story too!
So...if anyone actually knows what the 3 years olds learned today, please pass it along! Otherwise, I will continue to search for her version of the Bible story!

Loving Sister

Adrianna has such a loving heart towards her sister! She is always making sure there is nothing on the floor she can choke on, and that the basement door is closed. I pray they will always be friends and love each other. She is very thoughtful towards us and always seems to be thinking about what she can do to help. Wow, I can hardly wait for the day she accepts Christ and the Holy Spirit gets a hold of her life! We are trying to encourage her to enjoy the moment and not worry so much about what else she can do. She is constantly thinking about 5 million things at once that she can't get them all out! Her nickname right now is Dory..you know that cute little fish in Nemo who has short-term memory loss! I'm am sure it is the age, but that is the only thing I can liken it to! We will have this great day of playing at the mall, getting a treat, hearing storytime , and riding the carousel, then I'll ask her to tell Daddy what we did today and she'll remember something we did a week ago instead of the immediate activity. We just have to laugh and guide her in remembering. It is amazing how their little brains are absorbing so much information that is all tries to come out at once!
