Ready......

We are ready for our baby brother!

Only 2 more weeks to go hopefully! Mommy is definitely ready and is praying for daily grace to make it. It is weird to think that it won't be just me and my girls anymore! Even though they are incredibly frustrating at times, we do have fun together. Our life is just going to change drastically. What in the world is life like with a boy?!!!:)
God has blessed us in abundant ways and I'm anxious to see how this little guy will bless us even more!














And NO...I am still NOT having twins!

Shawn had to do some patching in the nursery and after he sanded it, he had to re-paint a few spots. We thought it would be a great opportunity for Adrianna to bond with Daddy. She absolutely LOVED it!
She was so excited to get our her little paintbrush and paint anywhere on the wall. They were having a great time in the room just talking and learning together!






The wall they are painting was green so we decided to paint it blue. Yes, that is blue not purple like it looks!
And yes, she is not completely indecent! We didn't have any paint clothes so she had her paint smock on with her undies.
She loved the roller and was quite proud of herself when they were done!
She loves to help around the house and she did a great job!

Pumpkin Carving Fun!

It has been a family tradition every year to carve a pumpkin, eat the seeds, and then watch a movie. The girls both participated this year and it was so much fun to watch. We actually had an activity where there was a limited amount of fighting! They took turns digging out the goop and were having a great time laughing!




Need I say more...She is such a ham!








We were all surprised by the amount of seeds in the pumpkin. I was excited because the best part is eating them!







Adrianna didn't mind getting goop on her hands, and for her this is a big deal! Eliza picked out one seed at a time and if she got a minute amount of goop on her hands she tried to get it off! This of course resulted in orange goop flying all over the dining room as she was shaking her hands to fling it off! She tried to wipe it on my arm too!

We ended our evening watching "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown". I forgot how mean Lucy is! She is one bitter cartoon character! I'm glad the girls didn't go around the next day calling each other "blockheads"!

Eliza

Eliza had her cardiologist's appointment today. We were originally scheduled for Nov. 4th so I'm glad we got in early!
After getting lost in downtown GR...grrr.... It should have been easy to get there. Can I just say I hate getting lost, driving in downtown GR, one-way streets, construction, and lots of traffic!
Anyway...we finally found the place and it was easy!

They did another EKG and it took less than a minute! The one at Zeeland took about 5 or so. Eliza was so good. She just laid there and hardly moved! The cardiologist was really nice and very personable.
He did hear a murmur when he listened to her heart but he called it an "innocent murmur". A murmur can be common and can indicate a hole in the heart, a defective valve, or other serious heart problems. The murmur he heard did not indicate any of those things. Praise the Lord! It was possible that they were going to have to do an ultrasound and because the patient has to lay still for 15-20 minutes, they usually have to sedate them. He said that was not needed and he just wants to see her back in 2-3 years! Her doctor can just monitor her when she goes in.
Her EKG showed the murmur but that could just be normal for her. He said she looks healthy and is growing well so there are no other signs of a heart condition.

I am so relieved and it helps to have one less worry before the baby comes! God surely does take care of us in EVERY way! Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. God hears the prayers of His people!

An unclean "House"

I am protesting the show "House"! I'm not sure if I will do it officially, but Shawn and I decided we were not going to watch it anymore. It was absolutely disgusting last night! One of the main characters is bi-sexual and they showed her being sexually active with another woman in detail. I can't believe they allow that on public television. The show is pretty crude anyway but this just throughly disgusted me. It is sickening how many of the shows are going that direction and allowing more and more moral issues to be overlooked. The show "Grey's Anatomy" and "Brothers and Sisters all have gay couples in their story lines and many have been shown kissing amoung other things. What in the world is our world coming to?
I guess we are down to one show now which is "Smallville"...at least until that gets disgusting!

Bittersweet Goodbye to Gus

Gus is officially gone...sniff....jk...;)!
The sweet couple came to pick him up today. We gathered all his stuff last night and had it ready for him. It is such the perfect place for him. I could not have imagined anything better!
They even brought a gift for the girls and a gift for the baby! We don't even know them and they were so thoughtful!
She even said we could come and visit and the girls could have a tea party with her. What more could I ask for in finding Gus a good home.
I'm not sure exactly how I feel. I am sad and it feels weird to think this is permanent but I think in the long run this is the best for our family.
One more worry gone before the baby comes!

They are keeping him on a week trial to see how it goes and if all is well, they will keep him permanently. If not, they will give him back....let's hope that doesn't happen!

The end is near!

I had another doctor's appt. on Friday and the end is finally in sight!

I have an ultrasound for growth in 2 weeks followed by another appt.. Depending on what the ultrasound shows, I will have an amnio on Nov. 10th and possible delivery on the 11th! It all depends on if his lungs are ready. In diabetic mothers, the baby grows big but the lungs mature slower. We shall see! I am optimistic because Adrianna was born at 36 weeks and her lungs were ready and Eliza was born at 37 weeks and her lungs were also ready!
It is just getting more and more UNCOMFORTABLE and most of you know!
The nursery is almost ready so that makes me feel better! The diaper bag is packed and I have started packing a few things for me in the hospital. I can hardly believe he is almost here!

I am supposed to rest more...yeah right...:) Though my MIL and FIL took the girls all day today and part of tomorrow! I was able to relax, get a few things done, and have some quiet time! It has been great but gone entirely too fast! Thanks so much to them for giving me a sanity break!
