Before Caleb was even born, Shawn and I knew he was a gift and knew we wanted to raise him to love God, and to follow Christ. This past Sunday we "officially" dedicated him to the Lord at a service at our church. Basically we are saying that we will surround him with spiritual teaching and guidance in the hopes that he will accept Jesus as his Saviour and strive to live for Him. We want him to live up to his namesake which is the mighty, faithful Caleb in the Bible. We want to make sure our relationship with Christ is strong and growing so that we can pass that on to him. This service does not guarantee his salvation, it just means that the Lord is first in our life and Caleb belongs to him, even before he was conceived! It means that we will raise him in the church and teach him how to have a personal relationship with Christ. Our prayer is that he will decide to accept Jesus in his heart and want to live for Him in everything he does.

And we are here, to fill in the little gaps... perhaps there really aren't any gaps in kids lives, but I like to think God places grandparents on the earth to fill in a little gap here and there.. Probably more gaps in our lives, as these lives ones fill us up!
Thanks for always letting us be part of their lives!
