YIPPEE! I am done with the 1st trimester! That means less nausea and less moments of feeling like a got run over by a truck! I had a doctor's appt. yesterday and everything is going pretty well. Blood pressure is good, blood sugar's are good, and other things that I won't mention are good! I had to take Adrianna with me because I had to take her to get her urine tested right across the hall from my doctor. My appt. was at 10:45 but by the time my doc got to me, it was 11:25. As we were waiting Adrianna had to go to the bathroom. As she was coming back into our room she saw the doctor and said to him "Are you coming in to see my mommy yet?". He said he would be there soon! Leave it to a 4 year old to be honest! So he had to do a FULL exam and Adrianna was a little concerned over why I had to put my feet in those padded things!
She was "Miss chatty" and kept telling the doctor she was going to see her grandma after this. She even asked him if he was going to see his grandma!
He tried to find the heartbeat and thought my uterus was tipped back so he wasn't sure he would be able to hear it. He said we could wait another 4 weeks (whatever), or do an ultrasound to confirm everything was okay. I of course opted for the ultrasound!
During this time he had 3 other patients to finish before 12pm, and a woman in labor who was on her 5th child. Her last baby came in 3 hours and the 3 hour mark was right when he was with me! So...we waited a little while longer and he actually came back in within 10 minutes.
I can't believe how much "he":) has grown in 5 weeks! We saw the heartbeat, the head and body and the ribs. So amazing! Everything is fine and I'm glad we were reassured.
As he was putting the goop the wand for the ultrasound it made that squirting noise you get when your almost out of something. Well.. Adrianna says "Excuse you mommy!". It was good for a laugh I guess! She is so hilarious sometimes!
Anyway..baby is good and I don't have to go back for another 4 weeks. I will relish that!
God is good!

F is for Flu
Adrianna and I have officially finished all of our letter sounds! We are both very excited!
In celebration we bought her the Leap Frog Word Whammer so she could practice making words with all the sounds. So far she has made; ext, azp, & zqp. We are still working on it...:)
Eliza actually plays with it more but that's okay. Adrianna just likes to do a lot of things at the same time and she can't possibly stop and listen to the directions long enough!:)
I am also recovering from the flu. I think I took 6 baths yesterday to try and ease the body aches. Not fun to have such strong nausea as well as being pregnant! Yeah for toast...:)
Eliza is playing the piano and she is about ready for bed. I must stop her from coloring on the piano..:)

Adrianna's heart is so open to things. She knows that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, that he rose again, and that we have to ask him in our heart before we can go to Heaven. She keeps saying, "I haven't done that yet!". I am praying for the day when it goes from her head to her heart. That she will realize that she can do it and that she will realize she is a sinner. Because we DEFINITELY see the sin nature EVERY day! We are trying not to make it our decision by pushing her. We are really trying to show her what Jesus says and fill her mind and heart with spiritual things. This is something we have both prayed for since she was born and sometimes I just want to say "Just do it!". Jesus is working on her heart and when it does happen, I know He has amazing things for her life.
Eliza is so different from Adrianna. She is just carefree and joyful. Always laughing, always repeating some funny word, always making us smile. I dread the day when she gets an attitude! For now, we are just enjoying her and the incredible blessing she is.
I often wonder how different this baby will be. I am really hoping "he":), is layed back like Shawn and will be strong and faithful. I think we will probably find out if the baby is a boy or girl in early July. God knows exactly what we need, exactly what we can handle, and exactly what will bring him glory. It is so comforting to know that I don't have to make those decisions, even though I try sometimes!
I am just thankful that I haven't been as nauseous lately. I have all these things to get done in our house during the 2nd trimester when I have a little more energy! We'll see! The first major transition will be to combine the girls in to one room. Oui...I am NOT looking forward to that!
We bought a loft that Adrianna will sleep on and we can still us the twin bed for Eliza.
Eliza is an extremely light sleeper and Adrianna is a sound sleeper. This should be interesting..:)
We'll, I continue to trust in my Jesus who is ever faithful, who is always with me, who will never let me down. I just need to rely on Him more!

Our little extrovert
Shawn had his High School Spring Concert last night and it was fabulous! They played some really cool tunes like--John Williams Medley, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bohemian Rhapsody, Cakewalk, Stars and Stripes, and the music from next year's marching show. I am amazed at how the kids respond to Shawn and how well he does with them. He truly has a gift for teaching. They really respect him and respond to his conducting. He is so at ease talking with the audience. I guess that's an extrovert for ya! He is very professional and always has the right things to say to the audience.
Well, we went last night to the concert as well as Shawn's parents and my parents.
Adrianna does really well listening even though she said it was too loud! Providing them with snacks also helps! Eliza was hilarious! She cannot be confined at all so we let her walk back and forth in the aisle just to keep her happy. She would clap everytime the audience would clap, and if she has something in her hand, she would put it down! She was also head banging to Thriller and Frankenstein,( two of the marching tunes), and trying to head bang with the girls sitting behind us. (Daddy taught her that!) I had to catch her a few times in the aisle trying to wave to other people. Okay..I think she will be an extrovert like Daddy! Then when people were whistling and cheering at the end of a song, she would do her little scream at the same pitch as the whistle. Can we say genius..:)
Every time Daddy left the stage she would yell out "Uh-oh Daddy". She is such a bundle of joy!
All in all, it was a GREAT concert! I'm proud of you hunny!

Tulip Time Fun!
This past Saturday we went to Tulip Time in Holland. My grandparents & my aunt & uncle drove in from Detroit to go to it also. They had this really great kids fair set up in downtown Holland. It was only $5 and they had many booths set up where you could play little games, get your face painted, get prizes, and watch some shows. They had some groups dancing, a petting farm, and a guy doing tricks with his dog. They even had the big huge bouncy things that kids could jump on. Those were a favorite! Adrianna waited in line to get a balloon animal for 45 minutes! She wouldn't even let one of us stand in line for her so she could hold the snake! Come on! The girls also got to try cotton candy for the first time. Eliza wouldn't even try it at first, but once she did, she wanted the whole bag! It was great fun! My dad and Shawn even got their hair painted. I would expect that from Shawn but not my dad! It was cool to see him stepping out of his comfort zone!

You can see my dad's more because of the gray..:)
I think Daddy had more fun on these than Eliza did!

A Cotton Candy kiss!

This is the only cute picture I could get of the girls by the tulips. Eliza screamed the whole time!

Yes, this is my dear husband holding a red-tailed boa constrictor.
Some friends of our family used to have a boa in Marysville where we used to live. I would hold it all the time! Not this time..:)
This is my grandma! Eliza is named after her.

I didn't even notice the verse on the car until I looked closer at the picture! This could be a cute Christmas card picture!

Influences
Adrianna really enjoys watching the movie "Enchanted". There is one scene she seems to remember quite clearly. Giselle is hoping her prince will come and rescue her. Robert is telling her he doesn't think so. Giselle says she is angry because all Robert can say is "No" to everything.
So for a while Adrianna kept telling us she was angry.
Then Robert says "I have to disagree, I don't think he's coming".
Yesterday morning, Adrianna wanted to put a dress on (which she usually does every morning) and I told her she could not wear a dress to the park. I heard her in her room changing and she said, "I have to disagree!".
I love it when kids say funny things because it reminds us to not be so serious!
It also reminds me to really screen what she watches and listens to! Even more so now that she is getting older and remembering more things.

The joys of owning a house
So imagine this......
Downstairs bathroom
2 inches of water seeping into the laundry room and office
10 towels
2 fans
Stinky smell
Adrianna yelling "Look at all that water!"
Then saying "Can I swim in the pool?"
Frustrated Pregnant wife
Called Mr. Fix-it instead (aka..my dad)
New floor next week
Motivation to re-do the bathroom.....:)
